When you donate, you are directly supporting our community-led programs. Program delivery of the Language Nest and Fluency Transfer system accounts for the vast majority (80%) of our expenditure. The remainder supports the administrative management of the organisation (e.g. Finance, HR, IT, Communications, etc).
Your donation will directly support our communities 5 core strategic goals;
Goal 1 : Grow the next generation of Pertame fluent speakers
Goal 2: Increase community wellbeing and esteem through a proud cultural identity
Goal 3: Reconnect to the voice of the land
Goal 4: Lead the way for Australian First Nations languages
Goal 5: Build a strong, sustainable and community-led organisation

Our Pertame Projects are currently very small and run by community, so our ability to offer volunteer work is limited but we love offers of support. Please reach out to lee.causer@batchelor.edu.au to connect and we can see if there is a strength you can share with us.

Our language was taken away from us. They tried to take it away. We as children realised ‘no this white fella will not take our language away’, we will talk in secret. When the government tried to take our language away, we would not let them. I know now, I am going forward in my life knowing my language will once again be strong. It gives me the freedom to enjoy it, teach it and embrace it. It is important, my skin is black and I am aboriginal. We have to know my language and identity. The Nest has given me a purpose. This is serious for us as Pertame community and people.
