Pertame School Administrator

Vanessa is a full-time Administration Officer for the Pertame School. Vanessa has 5 years experience coordinating the Pertame School, after training in language immersion from the Global Indigenous Language Caucus in New York. She received the 2019 College of Indigenous Futures Student Award in recognition of outstanding academic performance within her undergraduate degree in Applied Social Science majoring in Indigenous Community Language Work. She also received the Beryl Price and Lowitja Institute Postgraduate Award, and was a 2021 AMP Changemaker.

Language Nest Coordinator

Sashanna Armstrong began her journey with the Pertame school and Ngketja Untja in 2023 as a Parent Educator.At the start of her Pertame journey Sashanna began attending the Language Nest, Ngketja Untja with two of her children in 2023 learning how to speak Pertame. Within two years of attending the Nest, Sashanna then went on starting her career as a coordinator of the Language Nest. Where she continues passing down knowledge of the Pertame language, teaching the next generation of speakers.

Assistant Language Nest Coordinator

Kayla Solomon has shown the Pertame community the importance of engaging in her children's Language and practicing cultural awareness as someone who is not of Pertame decent. Kayla first Enrolled her older two Pertame children in the Pertame School’s after School program’s then a short while after, she started attending the Ngketja Untja, Language Nest. Learning how to speak Pertame along side her younger two Pertame children. Two years in the Language Nest, Kayla began her work as an assistant Language Nest Coordinator, where she sets up activities for the Children and other needed work around the Nest, all while only speaking Pertame.
